Overview

ECG Journal is designed as a private, on-device journal for Apple Health data. We do not operate a server that receives your ECG recordings, waveform data, blood pressure readings, symptoms, tags, notes, or other health information stored in the app.

The only data collection described in this policy is anonymous usage statistics and crash or diagnostic information used to understand reliability and improve the app.

By using ECG Journal, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.

Health Data and On-Device Storage

With your permission, ECG Journal reads selected data from Apple Health, including ECG records, ECG metadata, ECG waveform data, symptom information, and blood pressure readings. The app may also store tags and notes that you create.

Health data and journal data are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit this health data to servers owned or operated by us. We do not sell health data, use HealthKit data for advertising, or share HealthKit data with data brokers.

If you enable iCloud Backup, iCloud Health sync, device backup, or similar Apple services, Apple may store or sync device and health information according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies. Those Apple services are not controlled by us.

Anonymous Analytics and Crash Reports

ECG Journal may collect anonymous usage statistics, crash reports, and diagnostic information. This may include information such as app version, operating system version, device model, performance information, crash logs, feature usage counts, and general reliability signals.

We do not intentionally include ECG recordings, waveform data, blood pressure readings, notes, tags, symptoms, or other health content in analytics or crash reports.

We may also receive limited purchase or subscription status information from Apple for operational, support, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes. App Store transactions are managed by Apple.

Third-Party Services

ECG Journal depends on Apple services, including Apple Health, HealthKit, the App Store, iCloud features you enable, and Apple diagnostics or crash reporting. Your use of those Apple services is governed by Apple’s terms, privacy policies, and device settings.

ECG Journal does not include advertising tracking and does not sell or rent personal information.

We may use service providers for app hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, and troubleshooting. These providers may process limited technical information only to perform services for us, comply with law, prevent abuse, or protect their systems. They are not authorized by us to use ECG Journal health content for advertising or unrelated purposes.

Your Choices and Controls

Apple Health permissions are controlled by iOS. You can grant, deny, or revoke ECG Journal’s Apple Health access in the Health app or Settings app at any time.

You can delete journal information by deleting app data or deleting the app. You can manage Apple Health data, iCloud backup, iCloud sync, and device diagnostics through Apple’s settings.

If you contact support, we may retain your message and related technical context for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.

Data Retention

Health data and journal data remain on your device until you delete them, delete the app, erase the device, or change Apple Health/iCloud settings that affect the data. Anonymous analytics and crash information may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to maintain, secure, and improve ECG Journal.

Security

ECG Journal relies on iOS device protections, Apple Health permissions, and Apple platform security. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, Apple ID, backups, and exported files.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards for any limited technical, diagnostic, purchase, or support information we process. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Data Processing

We and our service providers may process limited technical, diagnostic, purchase, or support information in the locations where we or they operate. Those locations may have data protection laws that differ from the laws in your country or region.

Links to Other Sites

ECG Journal and this website may link to third-party sites or services. We do not control those sites or services and are not responsible for their content, privacy policies, or practices. Review their terms and privacy policies before using them.

Children

ECG Journal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of ECG Journal after an update means the revised policy applies to your use of the app.
